As part of the Urban Field Naturalist Guide to Lesser-Known Pollinators exhibition at UTS Library, Donna Sgro discusses how studying the butterfly lifecycle (for 8 years) helped her to understand and model a transformation in her fashion and textile design practice, and Cecilia Heffer describes drawing inspiration from the botanical illustrations of 19th Century Australian artists the Scott sisters to produce an etherial contemporary lace curtain for the State Rooms in Government House. Both are exquisite examples of the Urban Field Naturalist mantra: slow down, observe, ask questions, record and collect, share.
